The structure and use of the medieval renter row, 119-23 Upper Spon Street, Coventry, is examined and compared to the 'Wealden'row, 159-62 Spon Street, Coventry, 34-50 Church Street, Tewkesbury, the longest surviving row of medieval renters, and other previously described renters. Most of them are part-floored, generally with footprints in the range of 15-30m~2, and some of them have smoke aprons to protect the upper rooms. Such premises might have been built for small traders and wage earners.
