On Nov. 6, the acquisition of Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. from United Technologies Corporation by Lockheed Martin Corp. was officially completed. The new "Sikorsky, A Lockheed Martin Company" comes under Lockheed Martin's Mission Systems and Training (MST) unit, which is the same business area that had previously partnered with Sikorsky on most of the company's maritime products. (This business unit had historically been based on the Loral/IBM Federal Systems in Owego, New York, which became part of Lockheed in 1996.)
