Ultimately, the US Army expects a mixed utility and medevac helicopter fleet with 1,365 UH/HH-60MS and 760 UH/HH-60Vs. Victor-model Black Hawks will be conversions of older analog H-60Ls with a new, digitized cockpit for enhanced situational awareness and digital connectivity. Prime contractor Redstone Defense Systems (RDS) and subcontractor Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems Sector will give the legacy helicopters a Pilot-Vehicle Interface (PVI) that looks and performs just like that in current production UH-60Ms. According to Victor-model product director Anthony Dupree in the Army's Program Executive Office for Aviation,"UH-60M pilots will require minimal additional training in order to become UH-60V-qualified and will be able to move easily between the two platforms. This will reduce the overall training burden to the warfighter. Additionally,approximately80%ofthe LRUs [Line Replaceable Units] utilized on the UH-60V will be common to the UH-60M, reducing the logistics tail required to support the modernized fleet."
