Before his retirement from Bell Helicopter Textron, Mr. Frank Harris led an illustrious career in the rotary-wing field, starting as a test engineer and advancing to group leader, program manager and finally to the rank of senior vice president. After retirement, as a consultant to NASA and the U.S. Army Aeroflightdynamics Directorate, he has been a very productive mentor to junior engineers while writing a three-volume classic: "An Introduction to Autogyros, Helicopters, and Other V/STOL Aircraft/'Volume I covers an overview of these aircraft and focuses on autogyros, while Volume II addresses helicopters and Volume III deals with other vertical/short takeoff and landing (V/STOL) aircraft.
