The U.S. Department of Defense operates the most advanced fleet of military rotorcraft in the world, and they have been among the keys to the success of combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. U.S. Army aircraft, primarily rotorcraft, have flown over 4.5 million combat hours in the 10 years of conflict. The latest model aircraft are state-of-the-art in mission systems capabilities.
