On January 18-20, 2006, the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter (SFBAC) of AHS International hosted a Vertical Lift Aircraft Design Conference at the Holiday Inn - Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. The total number of attendees was over 110 with representatives from government, industry, and acade-mia - including individuals from Canada, France, Germany, Italy, and Korea. The general chair opened the conference by dedicating it to Barry J. Baskett (Associate Director for Aviation Technology for the US Army), who had passed away on January 10, 2006.
