On Dec. 10, 2018, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL)'s Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) achieved a flight test milestone - and certification requirement - by reaching an altitude of 19,700 ft (6,000 m) over Bengaluru. On Jan. 17, HAL's Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) completed the nation's first helicopter air-to-air missile tests, successfully destroying a moving target over a test range at Chandipur, Odisha. On Jan. 2, Financial Express reported that the Indian Air Force will begin taking deliveries of Boeing AH-64E Apache Longbow and Chinook CH-47F(Ⅰ) helicopters starting in the middle of this year and concluding in 2020.
