On Aug. 1, The Boeing Company held the grand opening of its brand new 350,000-ft2 (32,500-m2) V-22 Osprey Factory at its plant outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The new building (3-57) at its Ridley Park, Pennsylvania, facility will build fuselages for new V-22 tiltrotor aircraft for all customers and modernize the MV-22 fleet for the US Marine Corps (USMC). The new factory will improve safety and productivity, lower operating costs, and reduce Boeing's environmental impact. All Marine MV-22s will fly to the new Osprey Factory to be upgraded to the Block C model as part of the Common Configuration -Readiness and Modernization (CC-RAM) program to standardize all Marine tiltrotors.
