The cover article "Get Better BOD Results" in the October/November 2008 WEF Solutions had useful information. However two of the three improvements in the article were misleading. First, PET (polyethylene terephtha-late) bottles were accepted by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in 2003 for 40 CFR 136 BOD Method EPA 405.1, which uses Standard Methods 15th edition Method 507 (1980).
