When we learn to fly, we all are taught to rely on the checklist(s). Making sure that the items on the list are completed has saved many a pilot. So, what do you do when your insurance policy arrives? Save it to your hard drive without reviewing? File it with your other documents? Do you put it aside think-ing you will read it later? Most of us (including those of us in the insurance business) find reading a policy to be a tedious task. However, we strongly encourage all our customers to read their policy-especially when changing carriers. To make this process somewhat easier, we will cover some of the more important items to look for in the policy to make sure you are covered correctly and that you understand what is, and just as important, what is not covered in your aircraft insurance policy. So here is our Top 10 list of items to look for when you receive your policy. These are not necessarily in order of importance, but rather follow the order in which a typical policy is assembled.
