Wipaire Inc. has completed certification flight testing and performance testing of the Cessna 208B Grand Caravan EX on Wipline 8750 amphibious floats, and full FAA certification is expected in July. The big 8750 floats currently are approved and operating on the Cessna 208 Caravan. "We are excited to bring the Wipline 8750 to Grand Caravan EX owners and operators," Wipaire President and Chief Operating Officer Chuck Wiplinger said. "The Grand Caravan EX makes a fantastic floatplane with incredible performance, utility, and capacity. We're lixiking forward to seeing them in operation." The PT6A-140-powered Grand Caravan EX on Wipline 8750s will have a gross weight of 9,062 pounds - a 225-pound increase over factory gross weight - with no landing weight limitation. Wipaire claims a 2,000-ft. takeoff run on water for the EX on 8750s, and a 3,270-ft. takeoff run on water over a 50-ft. obstacle.
