Aeronautical University (ERAU) is one of the nation's premier aviation college institutions. ERAU grads go on to careers at air carriers and corporate operators; to management positions in private and government aviation organizations; and to just about any job involving specialized aviation knowledge, skill, and passion. In the case of Amanda Hartley, the early career path leading from ERAU has largely been on the water. Hardey flies a de Havilland Beaver for Taquan Air in Ketchikan. The missions include sightseeing trips to Misty Fjords, flying the mail to Prince of Wales island, passenger charters, and any other task and destination that an Alaskan operator encounters, which covers a lot of different possibilities.
