Today we can read, and submit, online reviews of almost anything - restaurants, hotels, doctors, auto repair shops, plumbers. Now we can add air traffic controllers to the list. RateMyController.com is a new service that allows pilots to record their experiences - good and bad - with ATC functions ranging from Clearance Delivery to Air Route Traffic Control Centers. RateMyController is the brainchild of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Professor Cass D. Howell, Rd.D., who is Associate Dean of the College of Aviation. He is manager of the website and the Forum moderator. Here is how Howell describes RateMyController.com: "It is free, anonymous, and moderated to exclude frivolous entries. Controllers are not identified by name, but rather by function-Tower, Approach, etc. The information gathered can be used to advantage by pilots at all levels to plan flights and to be prepared for the 'gotchas' that exist in the National Air Space.
