My Lake Renegade and I hove had a 17-year love affair that continues with trips to the Arctic and the Caribbean. So why do I also have an AirCam? I was drawn to the AirCam because of us twin engines, redundant systems, and light weight, all of which allow the AirCam to complete any flight on a single engine. Unlike production twins, the AirCam has enough power tor takeoff on one engine, and the loss of an engine in flight is not a critical event. The AirCam-also allowed me to become tailwheel proficient, and provided me with an open cockpit "magic carpet" from which to view and photograph the wetland complexes of central Florida. More recently, I found a new use for the AirCam, one that not only takes great advantage of the airplane's performance, but also may benefit the public at large. More on that later.
