The decade with no name has slipped behind us, and we have entered that of the One-ders. With the change in the calendar has come the triennial shift in IWRA governance, evidenced in this issue by the introductory remarks of the new President, Prof. Jun Xia, and the listing of the new Executive Board after those remarks. Water International will show some changes as well. I remain the Editor-in-Chief, but we now have four Associate Editors and a new, slimmed-down Editorial Board, as listed on the inside front cover. A new Publications Committee, chaired by Christopher Scott, is on its way.rnAlso, it has only been one month since you heard from us last. This issue, January 2010, follows hard on the December 2009 one. The reason for this is that with the shift from four issues a year to six, we have opted to begin our volumes in January rather than March. One consequence is that this is another "thin" issue (in quantity, not quality), but we will make it up with larger ones in March and May. According to current plans, we will have some exciting special issues in July, September and November to round out the year.
