I am very pleased to report to the IWRA community that our association has been very active and that a lot of opportunities have come our way even since the beginning of the year:rn1. The 1st Board meeting of the World Water Council (WWC) 26-29 January: As thernfounder of the WWC, it is gratifying for IWRA once again to be represented institutionally on its Board, and we are committed to playing an active role. One of my first acts as IWRA President was to attend the first Board meeting, joining a number of past and present IWRA officers. The WWC Board invited us to take a leading role in formulating WWC Strategies on water supply and water demand. We have completed a draft of this work, and I will submit it to the 2nd WWC Board meeting in Beijing in June.
