After the CWRA Mid-Term Directors' Meeting, there was a brainstorming session held between the CWRA Board of Directors and the National Water Strategy (NWS) working group. As a result of that process, it was decided that CWRA supported a national water strategy that had the following broad characteristics:rn1. A National Water Strategy for Canada must be developed and implemented through the participation of all stakeholders. The federal government must be a full and active participant, as must all provinces and territories. However, initial lack of participation by some provinces/territory should not preclude initiation of the process. Aboriginal people should have leadership roles.
