摘要

In wastewater treatment modelling, energy information is not always immediately available. More detailednenergy information on a unit process level can be used to calibrate energy balance models serving for quantificationnof larger energy savings. Modelling energy footprint has lower uncertainty than other greenhouse gasnequivalent footprint models, and is the prime candidate for minimising costs and environmental impact. Duento their magnitude, and their larger number of equipment units, large wastewater treatment plants are associatednwith the largest margin for improvement.
