摘要

We agree that a general dynamic contact angle model must be incorporated into the VOF method to thoroughly investigate the competition between inertial, viscous and capillary forces in complex fractures. In general, a more complex contact angle model with velocity-dependent advancing and receding contact angles and a manifold of quasi-stationary contact angles may be required for some systems. Further refinements, such as the application of stochastic differential equations with quenched disorder to describe the contact line dynamics, may be required for chemically heterogeneous or physically hetero-geneous (rough) confining walls. The selection of the dynamic contact angle model will depend on the quantity and quality of available experimental data and the trade-off between accuracy and complexity.
