At the Opening Ceremony of the lWA World Water Congress & Exhibition in Busan, IWA highlighted the dedication and excellence shown by some of the water industry's most active participants. The IWA Global Water Award went to Rhodes Trussed, Honorary Membership of IWA was awarded to Jacques Lab re and Gustaf Olsson, the Outstanding Service Award was given to Shinichiro Ohgaki, Jaime Baptista, who is Congress President for the 2014 IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition, which will take place in Lisbon, Portugal, was recognised for the Outstanding Contribution to Water Management & Science, and Norhayati Abdullah won the Young Water Professional award. Kusum Athukorala was given the Women in Water award, and Per Halkjaer Nielsen was awarded the Publishing award.
