The Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water (PSIPW) has just announced the winners for its 2012 award. The Creativity Prize was won by the team led by Dr Ashok Gadgil from the University of California Berkley, US, for the development a method of treating arsenic contamination of groundwater using electrocoagualtion. The Groundwater Prize was awarded to the team led by Dr Charles Franklin Harvey from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, US, for the development of a complete diagnostic and conceptual model for understanding and preventing the arsenic contamination of groundwater.
