Restoration work on paddle steamer Medway Queen, moored at Gillingham, Kent, restarted in July with volunteers returning to the ship to varnish the deck and remove an old access ramp. Measures, including a one-way system, were set up to allow people to undertake the work safely. The Medway Queen Preservation Society is seeking new volunteers to join its team. Roles across all areas, including administrators to update its social media platforms and tour guides to welcome visitors back on board when the attraction can reopen, are available. Email info@medwayqueen.co.uk for more details.
