After a very busy year in 2014, the Canada Chapter membership has taken a bit of a reprieve during the winter months. Essentially, the executive has been focused on putting together a larger conference planning team to support all the activities needed to host a Fall Regional Conference in 2016 and the International Conference in 2017. By the time this newsletter is published, our team should be identified and starting their individual tasks. The important task of gaining sponsorships will be a huge focus this year, since most of our Canadian companies have not been engaged in the past to support SAWE conferences. We will also be continuing our efforts to engage our local universities, preparing them for future participation. To support this effort, we have decided to halt our yearly chapter technical conference for 2015. This should keep our team focused on the tasks ahead of them and reduce the overall stress level.
