摘要

Abstract—Heuristics and simple design guides are important tools forndesigners who wish to incorporate daylighting into the early designnprocess. This paper describes a simulation-based method forngenerating simple rules for facade design based on specific climatendata. This approach uses a design of experiments methodology tonpopulate a detailed daylighting knowledge base. To enablenconsideration of both visual performance and visual comfort, thenknowledge base contains information about whole-year, climate-basednilluminance and glare metrics. The design parameters consideredninclude window and shading device geometry and glazing materials.nThe approach illustrates how various design elements affectndaylighting performance and provides a simple way to approachndaylighting early in the design process. It can be employed for designnand in educational settings.
