We investigated the influence of disturbance type (agriculture and silviculture) within forested landscapes, amount of forest cover within 1 km of the site, and local habitat characteristics on the pairing success of Ovenbirds (Seiurus aurocapillus) in central Pennsylvania during May and June 1998. Because areas with low pairing success often are inferred to have high nest predation, we also examined whether pairing and nesting success were correlated across sites, We determined the paring status of 116 male Ovenbirds on 10 sites within contiguous mature forest.
