Longitudinal metal taping is not a harmless operation. A small hitch at this production step and the productivity of the entire sheathing line can be lost. Mapre supplies a range of devices designed to master this delicate operation. For cables up to 150 mm Φ the company can supply machines which control every step and parameter for the precision metal taping of telecommunication cables (pairs/quads or coaxial types) or power cables (low-, medium- and high-voltage types). Mapre's range of machines can process 7 - 150 mm Φ cables using 0.2 - 0.8 mm thick tapes of copper, aluminium or steel with widths in the 20 - 550 mm range, Figure 1. Pad diameters can go up to outside diameters of 1,050 mm.
