San diego—Mobile phone applications for the enterprise market thus far have received little attention from application developers. A quick look at the exhibit floor last week at the Qualcomm Inc. [QCOM]-sponsored BREW 2004 Developers Conference revealed that games and ringtones still dominate the download market. But business applications are starting to gain traction, and they are poised to become the next big thing for mobile phones (see related story on p. 1). Among those companies forging a new path is Xpherix Corp., which recently launched a business-oriented integrated contact list/calendar/e-mail access application using the BREW platform called "Remo For Business."
