摘要

Timber finger joints bonded with melamine urea formaldehyde and one-component polyurethane were strained in tension. The deformation of wood in the finger joint area during the mechanical experiment was observed by means of 2-D electronic speckle-pattern interferometry (ESPI). Owing to the application of a surface treatment procedure developed for ESPI experiments, high-quality maps of the distribution of axial, transverse, and shear strain in the finger jointed area were obtained.
