As the dual nature of its title suggests, this lat-est addition to Chris-Craft lore is really two books in one. Building Chris-Craft implies a book about the building of the company while Inside the Factories suggests the focus is boat manufacturing. In fact, Chapters 1 through 5 speak to company history. They encompass "The Early Years: Racers, Hunters and Duck Boats," "The Terrific 1920s," "The Great Depression," "The World War Ⅱ and Postwar Eras," and "Chris-Craft Quality." Chapters 6 through 9 deal with boatbuilding: "Production Methods and Sales," "Creating a Chris-Craft," "Inside the Factories," "Inspection and Shipping."
