If you prefer the comfort of a canoe seat,procure I the seat of your choice and then cut off its arms so JL that you are left with just the rectangular seat itself.Glue a 24" piece of gunwale stock to the bottom of the seat after centering it sideways to run fore-and-aft on top of the middle floorboard and lengthwise so it extends beyond the seat.The runout of the piece should extend in equal lengths forward and aft of the seat.On the bottom of the seat,along the short sides,glue two strips of foam or some other material that will pad the outside edges of the underside of the seat.Apply polyurethane as needed.
