If you're looking at a full set of plans (rather than "study" plans), the designer likely will have included a table of offsets. He developed this chart of numbers by taking measurements from the freshly drawn hull-lines. His triangular-sectioned architect's rule automatically scaled these dimensions to full-sized measurements. And this clever device will let you determine the size of berths, amount of headroom, and other crucial dimensions directly from the drawings.
