摘要

Puget Sound is one of the largest estuaries in the United States. It is home to several iconic marine species, such as Puget Sound Chinook salmon and Southern Resident killer whales, that have recently been listed as threatened or rnendangered under the U.S. Endangered Species Act (ESA). As a result, a coordinated effort is underway called the Puget Sound Nearshore Restoration Project (PSNERP) to develop Puget-Sound-wide plans to restore ecosystem functions that support these listed species and the overall health of the estuary.
