Three separate demonstrations at Southampton, Falmouth andrnChichester (UK) were conducted to test contraband detection using the SeaBat 7128 multibeam sonar system. These demos were staged in front of representatives from the Royal Navy, Royal Netherlands Navy, and US Navy.rnDuring the demonstrations RESON was able to positively identify items as small as a brick at ranges above 30 m, and at water depths of 7.0 m to 20 m. For items this small and with detection ranges like this, such has not been achieved by even a modern naval mine-hunter.
