Manson Construction Co. of Seattle, Washington (WA) and Dutra Dredging of San Rafael, California (CA) have formed a Joint Venture Partnership and are currently completing a project for the US Army Corps of Engineers to deepen Oakland's Inner and Outer Harbors to a -50 ft. What is very unique about this project is the beneficial use of the dredged material rather than traditional in-bay or at-sea disposal. Approximately 5.8M yd~3 of material has already been placed for shallow water habitat. Another 2.9M yd~3 of material has been delivered to the Montezuma Wetlands Project at the confluence of the Sacramento and San Joaquin Rivers for tidal habitat restoration.
