Daving been designated as the Hong Kong APEC Study Center for two years from 2006 to 2007, the APEC Study Center of the City University of Hong Kong had organised two consecutive All China Economics (ACE) International Conferences in cooperation with the Department of Economics and Finance. The seven articles in this special issue are selected from the 2007 ACE International Conference. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the conference participants and referees who helped to review the articles in this issue.
