The European Union's antitrust regulator confirmed June 12 that United States-based microchip designer Rambus Inc. has offered a series of concessions when it comes to royalty payments as a way to resolve a pending antitrust case in which the company has been accused of a "patent ambush".rnEuropean Commission spokesman Jonathan Todd announced that the EU competition authority will now "market test" the commitments by Rambus concerning the "Dynamic Random Access Memory" or DRAM chips that include a cap for five years on the royalties fees and a "most-favored-customer" commitment that allows all clients to be eligible for the company's lowest prices.
