Statutory regulation will enable practitioners of herbal medicine to become a significant contributor to empowering the nation's health. Herbal medicine's central ethos - it is healing ecology - enables the individual to take responsibility and provides tools to actively engage in a healing process. Phytotherapy - use of medicinal plants as a part of healing regime can bring radical change to patient's expectations and the way the medical community operates. Health as an active state of physical, emotional, mental and social well-being, must be viewed in the light of interdependence with all communities of life on Earth.
