Argentina is thought to have grown a big crop of good quality flue-cured tobacco that should sell well on the world's markets as long as growers and merchants can settle on a reasonable price, An acrimonious row over flue-cured prices was raging in Argentina in January, as this report was being written. And the chasm between the expectations of growers on the one hand and those of buyers on the other seemed so vast that some observers feared that the struggle would still be going on as this magazine was published. That would be late indeed considering that delivery of this crop began before January 1.
