The aim of this article is to give an appreciation of how flavours are used and the role they play in tobacco products. Details about the ingredients used in the flavour recipes of cigarettes and other tobacco products are confidential and this presents a difficulty when trying to discuss the use of flavours, So, while typical flavour recipes and process conditions are given in the text, these are given for the purpose of illustration only and they may differ from those of your experience. Also, flavours terminology is not consistent and that used to describe the various flavour types may differ from that familiar to you or used within your company.
