The Hydro MicroScreen™ rotating belt screen offers water resource recovery plants an advanced and versatile alternative to a primary clarifier at a fraction of the footprint, power use, and installation costs, according to Hydro International, based in Clevedon, United Kingdom."Already well proven in other parts of the world, the Hydro MicroScreen™ is an effective alternative approach for removing suspended solids and Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) that is fully ready for US operators to take advantage of," says Marcia Sherony, national sales manager for Hydro International's Americas Wastewater division. The consulting firm Metcalf and Eddy formally recognized the technology as an alternative to primary clarification in 2014.
