The authors describe methods for continuous electronic detecting and monitoring of the Accelerations arising in bogies and of the motions, speeds and forces occuring at the anti- Hunting devices of high-speed trains. The monitoring system makes it possible to continuously Check the dampers for proper functioning, thus ensuring safe operation of the vehicles at high Speeds, reducing maintenance costs and allowing any impaired damper performance to be identified at an early stage before It results in a measurable deterioration of smooth bogie running.
