If you've ever heard the bugler call, you know what I mean. Responding to our shouted name in the pre-dawn darkness with "here" wasn't exactly what we all looked forward to, but it did get us started on doing what we had to do.There are those who say we're between a rock and a hard place with regard to gas and oil. That's putting it mildly. There is a school of thought that sees us as having a tight hold on the short end of the stick with regards to the capacity to produce oil and natural gas, a lot of which goes to generate electricity. And we all know the California electricity story. But there's more to it than that. The same school holds that the problem is convergence of world-wide supply and demand. Under that scenario we can compare the sporadic imbalances that have occurred in recent years to the rumbling that occurred at mount St. Helens before the top of the mountain blew off. Now that was a problem. Then, there's another school of thought that holds that it's not that big a deal.
