The results experienced at the Madisonville compressor station document the benefits of high-pressure injection technology as an important emerging technology in the gas industry's search for a cost-effective means to meet stringent emissions compliance limitations, while providing the added luxury of increased engine stability and control.HPFi provides comprehensive improvement in engine combustion for direct-injected, gas-fired engines. The reduction in CO, NO_x, and THC, coupled with improved fuel efficiency represent a fundamental enhancement in the performance of the Cooper V-250 engine. It is important to note that these improvements have occurred on an engine that is typically considered one of the better mixing two-stroke cycle integral engines. The emission reductions demonstrated on the V-250 are comparable to those realized on Clark TCV engines.
