A new web-based module to help local distribution companies and pipe lines provide their shippers with the ability to manage and resolve imbalances over the worldwide web is being developed. An alliance of Altra Energy Technologies and Questar InfoComm is creating the imbalance trading module. According to Paul Bourke of Altra, the development program's goal is to quickly produce a software tool that LDC and pipe line customers can scale to the size they need to manage their imbalances behind the city gate, on the main line and at aggregation points system wide.
