In my previous column I casually mentioned that Professor Theo Evans had completed the DNA analysis on the Coptotermes family and would be publishing soon. I didn't realise he would be presenting a summary of the results at FAOPMA in Adelaide but I was very glad I attended. As many conference attendees commented afterwards, an additional hour would scarcely nave been enough to hear Professor Evans present on this topic. I came away with my head spinning with the revelations on Coptotermes and of zourse Mastotermes darwiniensis.
