NCR reported less-than-strong business with banks for its ATMs, and reported a 4% decline in sales for its financial unit in the third quarter (vs third quarter 2012 sales). US ATM business was down "mid-teens," company pres/CEO Bill Nuti told analysts. ATM growth in emerging markets was up 21%. The financial unit generates half of NCR's revenue. NCR's retail unit, which is POS thermal check-out equipment and papers, grew sales by 2%, including to four "major" shopping malls in China.
