Tom Withington talks to Bo Redeborn of Eurocontrol about the future of unmanned flight in European airspace. AVs will be treated in the same manner as manned aircraft in Europe's airspace by the end of this decade, according to Bo Redeborn, Eurocontrol's principle director of air traffic management (ATM). Headquartered in Brussels, Europe's air navigation safety body Eurocontrol is developing a regulatory framework for the operation of UAVs in non-segregated airspace. Moreover, the organisation is working with international partners to fulfil this aim by providing technical assistance and advisory support.
