I often remind the APIA members that we at the Secretariat work for you, the members. And, yes, the members are very enthusiastic, with plenty of ideas and suggestions - and, importantly, support when we provide new opportunities. The result of this activity has seen APIA's activities expand and the Association and the industry increase its influence. Many years ago the need to keep the young people in the industry - and possibly attract more young people - saw the development of the Young Pipeliners Forum, which has become very successful, and the need to develop clearly defined pipeline engineering skills became the Pipeline Engineer Training (PET) Project. More on that later.
