摘要

If psychological trauma is the origin of art, is it any wonder that the Creative Arts Therapies hold so much promise as a reparative force?" (Johnson, 1987, p. 13) It is with this question that David Read Johnson ended his article "The Role of the Creative Arts Therapies in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Psychological Trauma," published in this journal in 1987 as part of a special issue on child sexual abuse. His article was seminal in articulating a vision and rationale for the application of psychodrama, art, dance/movement, drama, music, and poetry therapies in treating acutely and pervasively traumatized clients, from survivors of childhood abuse and those exposed to domestic and community violence, to people whose lives are impacted by war, torture, or terrorism. Much has changed in the trauma field in the two decades since Dr. Johnson's article was first published.
