Camellia plants are cherished for their beautiful winter flowers when virtually no other plants are in bloom but there would be no lovely flowers if it weren't for the roots, bark and leaves. The trunk and branches provide a vital transportation system to take up water and minerals vital for the whole plant's health. The heartwood has another role—it is hard and an attractive light tan color, and can be made into handsome objects. Altogether, camellia roots, trunk, branches, bark and leaves work insymphonic harmony to produce a healthy flowering camellia. Take a closer look at them to see how interesting and handsome they are—especially when there are no blooms around.
